Albert R.
Calderon
Jan 18, 1946 — Oct 6, 2025
Gibert
Albert Calderon, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, at the age of 79.
Born on January 18, 1946, in Santa Paula, California, Albert dreamed of flying from a young age. He was the first in his family to graduate from college, and after being drafted during the Vietnam War, he found his way into the U.S. Marine Corps, where he fulfilled his dream of becoming a fighter pilot, even completing the elite Top Gun program. Albert served with distinction for 20 years, retiring as a decorated Lt. Colonel. Albert and his wife Cecilia shared a remarkable 56-year marriage filled with adventure, devotion, and unwavering love. Together, they built a life that spanned the country and even took them to Japan during his military service. Their partnership was the foundation of everything — a true love story marked by strength, laughter, and mutual support.
After retiring from the Marines, Albert continued his passion for aviation as a commercial pilot with Northwest Airlines for 15 years. Known for his joyful spirit, Albert had a gift for turning any gathering into a celebration. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, and his warmth, humor, and spark for life made everyone feel welcome.
Albert is survived by his loving wife Cecilia; his son Aaron and daughter-in-law Valerie; his daughter Celeste and son-in-law Tyler; his grandchildren Jett, Penelope, Jonas, and Max; and his brother Eddie. He was preceded in death by his brother Dr. Larry and his parents, Helen and Tony.
Albert's legacy lives on in the skies he loved, the family he cherished, and the joy he brought to all who knew him.
