Andrew Michael Valdivia, age 24 from Camarillo, passed away on Monday, November 24th after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Andrew passed peacefully in the presence of family members.
Andrew lived in Camarillo his entire life, attending Tierra Linda, Los Colinas, and Camarillo High School. He played AYSO soccer for 10 years and was an avid member of teams and summer camps with the YMCA. Andrew also played baseball in Camarillo starting at age 5 and ending with 4 years at Camarillo High.
Andrew was a very enthusiastic camper. Spending 20 nights a year camping at Lake Cachuma and his favorite place, Red's Meadow Campground and Sotcher Lake in Mammoth Lakes. We were very lucky to have one last camping trip watching the beautiful fireworks up at Crowley Lake near Mammoth last July 4th.
Andrew became a dedicated family man with his fiancée Victoria and the arrival of his little angel Ariella Teresa, 3. He doted on his little girl, always with her, having a blast together while having fun. The three of them together was a blessing for all of us to be able to witness.
Andrew leaves behind a large family including mother and stepfather Jessica and Eddie Cortez, brothers Anthony Ayala, Eddie(Chino) Cortez Jr., Jesse Cortez, Jacob Cortez, sister Ashley Ayala, grandparents Richard and Brenda Jaquez, step grandmother Wanda Cortez, father Hector Valdivia, Grandfather Raymundo Valdivia, of course his beloved fiancée Victoria Gonzalez and daughter Ariella, and his faithful pit bull Raskol.
