Anne Marie
Lezada
May 3, 1963 — Feb 22, 2024
Port Hueneme
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Anne Marie Lezada.
Anne Marie Lezada, 60, of Oxnard, CA, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of February 22, 2024.
Anne was born on May 03, 1963, the 5th of 16 brothers and sisters to Mary Clary and Alfonso Ayala in Oxnard, CA. After graduating from Santa Clara High School, she married Roy Lezada on December 1981, later going on to have and raise 3 really, really… really ridiculously good looking and respectful young men: Roy, Michael and Markus.
Anne went on to earn her ADN from Ventura College, graduating in 1995, and started her nursing career shortly thereafter at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, CA, where she would meet life-long friends. Over the next nearly 30 years, and having assisted in thousands of deliveries as a labor & delivery nurse, Anne obtained her BSN from University of Phoenix, where she discovered her passion to teach. She began teaching prepared childbirth to expecting parents, and would eventually progress to starting her own business, teaching Advanced Fetal Monitoring to other labor & delivery nurses across the country. Always looking to advance her career and education, she was in the midst of earning her Master's degree and was looking forward to becoming a nursing instructor and being able to help usher in the next generation of nurses.
All those who knew Anne knew she loved to "beach, beach, beach." Whether enjoying Point Mugu Beach all to herself, driving down to San Diego, or visiting Little Roy & his family in Hawai'i, Anne was happiest with sand on her feet and the sun on her skin (maybe a little bit happier if she also had her customized "Mama's Cup" filled with her favorite drink).
Anne is preceded in death by her brother, Al Peter, and the love of her life, her husband, Big Roy (F*ck cancer!).
Anne is survived by her children: Roy & Mandy, Michael & Nadia, and Markus; her grandchildren: Makayla, Jaylene, Aria, Evelyn, Nakoa, and Baby Lezada; and her dog, Trooper.
She is also survived by her mother, Mary Clary, her siblings: Elizabeth (Brent), Dolores (Steve), Richard (Dora), Vincent (Shelli), Patricia, Christine (Daniel), Angela (Craig), Albert (Annette), Mark (Carrie), Jennifer (Joe), Eugene, Joseph Daniel (Robert), Gerri Lynn, Samuel (Jessica); and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring love, support and prayers during this difficult time.
