Antonia Huerta, affectionately known as "Toña," passed away on November 16, 2025, in Oxnard, California, at the age of 77. Born on June 13,1948, in Jalisco, Mexico, Antonia lived a life defined by faith, resilience, and an unwavering love for her family.
She was the devoted daughter of Amelia Delgado and Delfino Quezada. Antonia worked many dedicated years as a custodian for the Hueneme School District before retiring.
A woman of deep Catholic faith, Antonia found strength and comfort in prayer. She was a faithful member of both Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and Santa Clara Parish, where she joyfully participated in various church groups, volunteered at parish events, and supported her church as a longtime donor. Her love for God radiated through her daily rosaries, her devotion to the Blessed Sacrament, and her gentle encouragement for others to seek peace through prayer.
Antonia was also a gifted cook who poured heart and skill into every meal she made. Her tamales, barbacoa, and menudo were cherished by all who were fortunate enough to taste them. She found great joy in her garden, tending to her plants and finding peace in every bloom.
Above all, Antonia had an extraordinary gift for connecting with people. Whether a friend or stranger, she greeted everyone with a warm smile and a compassionate heart. She prayed often for those in need and never hesitated to offer kindness or encouragement. Even as her mobility declined, Antonia continued to embrace her interests and daily activities with grace.
Antonia's memory lives on through her loving family: her sons Johnny Huerta, Frank Huerta, and Eduardo Huerta; her daughter-in-law Irma Huerta; her granddaughters Valeria Sainez, Janique Huerta, Karissa Huerta, Gloria Huerta, and Sofia Huerta; her grandsons Mario Sainez and John Paul Huerta; and her great-grandchildren Ava Vargas, Isaiah Morones, Sebastian Morones, and Camila Vargas. She is also survived by her siblings Amelia Velazquez, Rosa Quezada, Raymundo Quezada, Delfino Quezada, Jose Quezada, Armando Quezada, and Ricardo Quezada.
Antonia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Manuel Huerta, and her precious daughter, Gloria Huerta.
May she rest in eternal peace and rejoice in heaven with her husband and daughter.
