Antonio
Bravo
Jun 14, 1957 — Jul 12, 2024
Native Oxnard resident and career longshoreman Antonio "Tony" Bravo passed away on July 12, 2024, after a short battle with bladder cancer. He was 67.
Tony was born on June 14, 1957, in Oxnard to prominent business owners Pasqual and Eva Bravo. Pasqual and Eva co-founded many small businesses in Oxnard, the longest running was Cielito Lindo. To many, Tony was known to be the son of Oxnard because of his exposure through the many family businesses, his favorite being working with his father, Pasqual, to promote their nightclubs and land premier performers for their venues in Oxnard.
In addition to running several family businesses such as Tony's liquor and Queen's liquor, Tony was a longshoreman and was a member of the International Longshoreman's & Warehousemen's Union, Local No. 46.
When Tony wasn't working, he would enjoy walking along Main Street in Ventura and browsing the various stores. He also enjoyed eating local foods and savoring good coffee. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Tony fought his battle for seven weeks. Despite spending all that time in the hospital, he never lost his sense of humor. Throughout his journey, he cracked jokes with his grown children, made silly faces with his grandchildren, and even pulled some light-hearted pranks on the nurses. He had an incredible ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed.
Tony is survived by his children Aaron, Anthony, Stephen, Janna, Roxanne; three sisters, three brothers and six grandchildren. He was preceded by his father Pasqual, mother Eva and brother Rudy.
