Arthur V.
Estrada
Sep 20, 1931 — Nov 28, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arturo "Turi" Estrada, age 93 who passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 in Oxnard, California.
Arthur was born on September 20, 1931, raised and lived in Oxnard his entire life, living in the Colonia area. The stories he would tell us about him and his siblings growing up in the streets in early Oxnard could have been from an episode of the young rascals. Arthur attended local schools, Wilson Jr HS and Oxnard HS. He worked various jobs at packing houses, Borla and last retiring from Allis Chalmers. He was a devoted husband to his wife during her illness and a hardworking man with strong work ethics and his commitment to family was unremarkable. He was a humble simple man who loved his family. He loved his monthly trips to Chumash and every now and then to Las Vegas and Laughlin.
Arthur served in the United States Army from 1950 -1955. He received the Army of Occupation Medal (Japan), United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal W/1 BZ SV Star and the Army Occupation Medal (Germany), Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association, Ventura County Chapter #56. He was very proud to have served his country and was very proud of his grandsons and great-grandsons and nephews who also served in the military.
He is survived by his daughter Lydia Estrada Arreola. Grandchildren Robert Pech, Emilio Baldonado, David Zuniga, Jose Armando Valle, Juan Valle, Mary Lopez, Sofia Baldonado, Monica Campos, Diana Estrada and Erica Hall. 15 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren.
