With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Beatriz Magaña Fernandez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She departed this world on July 6, 2025, in Oxnard, California, at the age of 76.

A longtime resident of Santa Paula, California, Beatriz was born on June 2, 1949, in Tlazazalca, Michoacán, Mexico. Her childhood was filled with warmth, laughter, and the simple joys of small-town life. She often shared vivid stories of riding her father's horse — a memory that sparked a lifelong love for horses — and of afternoons spent at the town plaza with her sisters and friends, indulging in candies and laughter.
It was in her cherished hometown that she met the love of her life, Manuel Fernandez. Their love story began there and blossomed into a marriage that spanned 58 beautiful years. Together, they built a life in Santa Paula, where Beatriz poured her heart into raising their children with unwavering love, strength, and grace. She was a devoted homemaker and a fierce supporter of her children — always present, always cheering, always proud.

Beatriz's faith was the cornerstone of her life. It guided her actions, shaped her spirit, and gave her strength. She found joy in writing heartfelt prayers and lived her beliefs through acts of kindness and compassion. Her generosity knew no bounds — she was always ready to lend a hand or share a comforting word. Those who knew Beatriz will remember her not only for her deep faith and nurturing heart but also for her delightful sense of humor. She loved to make others laugh with her clever jokes and witty remarks, bringing lightness and joy.
When she became a grandmother, her heart expanded even more. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy — she showered them with affection, encouragement, and the kind of love only a grandmother can give. Her hugs were healing, her words were full of wisdom, and her presence was a gift.

Beatriz is now reunited with her loved ones who passed before her: her father Gonzalo Magaña, mother Elisa Magaña, sisters Catalina Paz and Alicia Mendez, and brothers José, Hector, and Guillermo Magaña.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in the hearts of those who survive her: her loving husband Manuel Fernandez, her son Manuel Fernandez Jr. and daughter-in-law Juanita Fernandez, her daughter Nancy Martinez and son-in-law Bernie Martinez, and her cherished grandchildren Andre, Alondra, Amaya, Alonzo, Bernie Jr., Breanna, Stevan, and Natalie. She is also lovingly remembered by her many siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A Rosary will be held at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. on July 31st at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 427 N Oak St., Santa Paula, CA 93060. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Pierce Brothers Cemetery, 380 Cemetery Rd., Santa Paula, CA 93060.
