David Raigoza, born on February 14, 1970, to Ignacio and Maria Raigoza, passed away on March 1, 2024. His birth on Valentine's Day seemed fitting for a man who possessed a heart as large as his love for others. David was generous and compassionate, earning him the title of a local hero within his community.

From his early days as a teenager overseeing Sunday brunch service at Alamo Mexican Dinner House in Camarillo to his later endeavors as head chef at various establishments like Viva Santa Barbara and Mizza in downtown Santa Barbara. Despite facing numerous challenges, including aplastic anemia in 2013 and a diagnosis of stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma in April 13, 2023, David remained passionate about his dedication to food creations. He opened up Chef David's Kitchen and Catering during the COVID 19 pandemic and even continued to work while receiving cancer treatments.

Beyond his culinary talents, David's true legacy lies in his selfless acts of service. He dedicated much of his time to community initiatives, including feeding the homeless, organizing Friendsgiving events, and always extending a helping hand to those in need. His impact extended far beyond the kitchen, inspiring kindness and compassion wherever he went.

David is survived by his loving parents, Ignacio and Maria Raigoza, his devoted girlfriend Yesenia Avila and her children Zeyda, Thalia, and Joanna, as well as his siblings Dina, Maria Elena, Maria, Abby, Salvador, Ignacio Jr., Fernando, and John. He leaves behind his grandchildren Elijah and Makayla, and his children Kiaha, Holly, and Gabriel.

While David may no longer be with us in person, his spirit of generosity and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered in his community and beyond.
