Edelmira Beltran, fondly known as "Mira," peacefully departed on December 14, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 9, 1925, in Oxnard, California, she was the cherished eldest daughter of Pedro and Angelina Castellanos and a beloved sister to Roberto, Alejandro, Alicia, Adela, Arturo, Ignacio, Yolanda, Eugenia, and Carlos.

Edelmira pursued her passion for sewing, studying in Guadalajara, Mexico, to become a skilled seamstress. Edelmira's life took a beautiful turn when she met Jesus Beltran, whom she married on December 17, 1946. Together, they celebrated almost 67 years of wedded bliss. Edelmira was not only a beloved wife but also a supportive mother, incredible mother-in-law, devoted sister, amazing grandmother, proud great-grandmother, and a loving great-great-grandmother. Her legacy is woven into the fabric of countless cherished memories.

Edelmira embraced her role as a dedicated housewife, finding joy in raising her six children: Terri, Bob, Danny, Carlos, Albert, and Jaime. Her commitment to education extended beyond her home, as she volunteered tirelessly at her children's schools. Encouraged by teachers, she applied for and secured a paid position as a para-professional for the Oxnard School District, where she made a positive impact at Sierra Linda School. Edelmira's love for her work and dedication to helping students left a lasting legacy in the hearts of those she touched. Edelmira's devotion to Santa Clara parish was a cornerstone of her life. She took great pride in her role as an active member of the Altar Society at Santa Clara Church. Her dedication knew no bounds as she, alongside her husband Jess, volunteered tirelessly-ironing altar cloths and meticulously arranging floral displays- all in unwavering commitment to her faith and the community.

Edelmira's presence in the lives of her children and grandchildren was nothing short of profound. She wholeheartedly supported them, attending games, performances, and school functions without hesitation. Her green thumb was legendary; she sprinkled magic in her children's homes; bringing life to every garden she touched. An advocate for the environment ahead of her time, she instilled the value of recycling in her children, driven by her desire to leave a better world for them. Fearless, bold, selfless, giving, compassionate, honorable, and humble—these are just a few words that capture the essence of the amazing human being she was. She lived fully, leaving behind a legacy of courage and love.

Edelmira's love for dancing was boundless; she and Jess were always the first ones on the dance floor. Now, they are surely dancing together, celebrating what would have been their 77th wedding anniversary. May the rhythm of their love continue to resonate in the hearts of those who remember them fondly.

At 98, Edelmira was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Beltran, son-in-law, Joe Luna, grandson, Patrick Albert Beltran, and grandson-in-law, Robert Deon Santillanes. She is survived by her daughter, Terri (Joe dec.), Robert (Patricia), Danny (Denise), Carlos (Bijou), Albert (Michelle), Jaime (Leticia); her grandchildren: Joseph, Eric, Jessica, Roberta, Sara, Jennifer, Daniel, Robert, Connor, Alexander, Sara, Sofia, Bianca, Aris and Isabella; her great- grandchildren: Raquel, Melissa, Jaden, Joaquin, Jake, Sophie, Alec, Elijah, Maya, Phoebe, Michael, Isaiah, Ariana, Phoenix, and Madelyn; great-great grandchildren: Aviana, Catalina, Vincent, and Jona. She was also godmother to 35 individuals whom to this day, are all honored to have been part of her life. Edelmira's legacy lives on through the generations she touched with her love and warmth.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Lupe, Edelmira's caregiver, Respiratory Therapist, Mike Bernard, the Community Care team (Usha, Aurora, and Audrey), and Livingston Memorial for their unwavering support.
