Edward Reynaldo
Castaneda
Aug 7, 1946 — Aug 2, 2024
Our loving Father, Grandpa and Great Grandpa Edward Reynaldo, also known as Eddie, Ed and Fast Eddie passed away peacefully on August 2nd, 2024. Edward was born on August 7th, 1946, to his parents Evaristo (Eddie) and Hortencia Castaneda. He is preceded in death by his parents and cousin Alex Villa and Ruben Quesada. His favorite color was blue and the #7.
He attended Santa Paula High School and graduated in 1964. He began his career in sales and as a delivery driver. Over the years he worked for Tom's Candy distributing candy, the Warehouser in Santa Paula, Sparklets Water, and ended his career working for THE PERFORMANCE GROUP, which he deeply enjoyed! He was a hardworking man that took pleasure in working. He valued working so much that he would do other handy jobs.
At an early age he had an enthusiasm for sports, especially baseball. He enjoyed playing and watching the Dodgers. He cherished watching his grandkids, niece's and nephew play sports. Grandpa Eddie was devoted to his grandkids and family. Anytime he was out and about he would always call his kids, family and friends to join him for breakfast, dinner, or to just go out! He loved to be around everyone and have a good time!
Our dad lived his life to the fullest! He adored his truck and trailer. He cherished camping on the beach and traveling locally with family and friends. Our dad was always the life of the party! He forever loved dancing and especially singing to all his Mexicana music. Our dad will always be remembered as a fun-loving dad, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle, brother and friend to many!
He is survived by his four children, eldest son Eddie Castaneda Jr (Christine), daughters Kimberly (David), Jeannette, and Gina (James). He had 12 grandkids Joshua, Daniel (Olivia), Natasha, Alexis (Carlos), Yazmine (Quasi), Kazzandra (Joshua), Jose Luis (Joey), Jacob, Travis, Payton, Violette, Aubrey and sixgreat grandkids, Natalia, Danny, Angel, O'Shea, Ya' Majesti and Cambria. He is also survived by his siblings, nieces, nephews and several other family members and countless friends.
Our dad had a saying; but can you play BALL?
The Castaneda family would like to thank Michael and Becky for the care and support of our dad and Mike from THE PERFORMANCE GROUP for being a supportive boss. Thank you to all the nurses and doctors at Kaiser that gently treated and cared for our dad. In lieu of flowers please donate to your local cancer hospital.
