With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Elva Leticia Cervantes, who departed her beautiful life on May 9, 2024, at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, California at the age of 69. Elva was born on January 10, 1955, in Baja California, Mexico, to Felix and Andrea Galindo. At the age of six, she relocated with her family to Oxnard, California, forging a new chapter of their lives in their new home.

Elva was a loving daughter, mother, wife, sister, and partner. She was widowed by Miguel Manzo Cervantes in 1995 and is survived by her three adult children: Miguel Angel Cervantes, Barbara Galindo Cervantes, and David Galindo Cervantes. Elva also leaves behind her devoted partner of over 27 years, Antonio Guilin Jr., and her seven surviving siblings: Manuel Galindo, Amador Galindo, Moises Galindo, Rosa Perez, Raul Galindo, Gloria Garcia, and Maria Rosario Ramirez.

Renowned for her ever-youthful voice, Elva had a successful career of 30 years at the General Telephone & Electronics Corporation (later known as Verizon Communications) in Ventura County before retiring in 2007. She was known for her warmth, kindness, sense of humor, and affectionate nature. Elva cherished her time with family, especially her three children, whether having conversations with them over the phone or spending quality time together. Elva loved live music, dancing, and an occasional trip to the casino. Elva often delighted in lunch dates with her siblings and treasured visits with her children to her favorite restaurant, Yolanda's Mexican Café. And yes, it is true, Elva had an enormous sweet tooth and rarely declined any desserts offered to her.
