Ernesto
Arteaga
Nov 13, 1970 — Feb 7, 2024
Ernesto "Neto" Arteaga, beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 7th, 2024, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 53. Born on November 13th, 1970, in Laredo, Michoacán, Mexico, Neto was known for his fierce love and passionate spirit which fought hard to hold onto his loved ones until his very last moments.
Neto cherished his three surviving children, Alexis, Ernesto, and Celeste, and was in love with being a "Pampa" to his four surviving grandchildren, Mia, Layla, Emilia, and Adan. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Luna, and his grandmother, Esperanza. Neto's children, grandchildren, mother, Imelda, father, Rodolfo, siblings, Rudy, Favian, Sandra, and Paloma, and the mother of his children, Raquel, all mourn his loss immensely.
To know Neto was to love him. He had the best personality, always the life of the party! He had the coolest dance moves, a unique and infectious laugh, and told the funniest stories. He was truly a natural comedian, dubbed "the Mexican Jim Carrey" by his nieces and nephews. He famously gave everyone he met their own nicknames as well, including referring to his kids as his "Fuddy Duddy," "Sucka," and "Little Skittle."
In addition to making everyone around him laugh, Neto loved to sing and would often serenade his loved ones with his favorite 80s love ballads. He was also an awesome cook, always pouring his heart into every meal he made, and never eating before ensuring everyone else in the room had their fill first.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family through their GoFundMe page at https://gofund.me/0409ed84. The Garcia Mortuary in Oxnard, CA, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements. Neto will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched with his love and laughter.
