Estrella
Oct 1, 1931 — Jul 19, 2026
We celebrated the life of Esperanza Estrella, 94 of Oxnard, she was carried home to be with our Lord on Sunday, July 21, surrounded by her family. She was born October 1, 1931, in Morelia Michoacán, Mexico the only child of Antonio Oviedo and Guadalupe Lopez. She lived in México City for 23 years where she worked as an administrative assistant in a furniture store and a light bulb factory and volunteered for "la Cruz Roja" Red Cross. She immigrated to Oxnard in 1954. She proudly became a US Citizen in 1996, while retaining her citizenship to México.
She was a hard-working woman who initially work in tomato, broccoli packing houses and later worked long term for the Tanaka Brothers Packing House (celery) and packing house (Ortega chile) as a machine operator. During the 1980's along with her husband they developed an interest in real estate investment and were also able to make a living from this endeavor. People knew her as an extremely optimistic and caring individual, who enjoyed hearing other people's life stories, for this we ask to keep her and her family in your prayers. Beside enjoying her family and friends; she enjoyed traveling to many places especially her beloved childhood home in Mexico City up to the age of 91.
Esperanza was preceded in death by her husband Trinidad, and her sibling Juan Saenz, of Modesto, CA.
