The gates of heaven have opened for our beloved Mother and Nana, a life long resident of Santa Paula, known to many as "La Fina or La Reina" Fina was crowned Town Queen in Santa Paula in 1947. Fina Dominguez Arellano rejoices in heaven with our father, Rudy and with all her friends and family who are gone but not forgotten.

Fina was well known in the Santa Paula community as the embodiment of giving comfort to anyone in need, including the 300 children which she and Rudy fostered for 45 years, once awarding her Foster Mother of the Year in Ventura County.

Additionally, Fina was a licensed real estate agent, hairdresser, nurse and caregiver. Fina committed her caregiving skills to all of her grandparents throughout their elderly years until their passing.

In 1971, Fina moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado to open her and Rudy's entrepreneurial dream of owning and operating a successful authentic Mexican Food restaurant and tortilla factory, Mama's Mexican Food.

Fina's lifelong skills in preparing authentic food was truly a big hit! Soldiers from nearby Ft. Carson would drive miles just to indulge in these life-learned delicacies which many happily customers revealed, "this food reminds me of home!"

She also had a lifelong love for military service and the men and women who served. You could find Fina preparing and serving her famous chili verde or nopalitos for the VFW events or joining her husband at funeral services, carrying Rudy's bugle when he would conduct his honorary "Taps" bugle call.

Fina was a devout christian, and her actions throughout her life were dedicated to others. Many people found relief and comfort through Fina's sincere trust, loyalty, love, compassion and the ability to empathize with others hardships.

A Mother and Nana, Fina leaves behind a wonderful legacy and takes her rightful place in heaven as we know she looks after a long list of family and friends here on earth. Fina is survived by son's Alan and Dino Arellano, daughters Sybil Mata and Marquita Jordan. Grandchildren include Philip and Alex Jordan, Isaiah, Joey, Jordan Bridges, Maddie Bridges Benevidas, Bailey Mata, Aaron and Ellie Arellano.

Great grandchildren include Cali and Brianna Bridges, Alyssa and Alex Jordan, Caleb, Ian and Jeremy Bridges.

Fina was also blessed with three son-in-laws. Len Mata, Tim Byrnes and Dennis Jordan.

Our beloved mother and nana is preceded in death by her mother Helen Aguirre, born in Piru California, father John Dominguez and grandparents Mary Fernandez and Juan Aguirre, also lifelong residents of Piru.

A Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, where Fina and Rudy were parishioners for many years.
