Jennie Real, 71, Minot, N.D., formerly of Fillmore, CA, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 at a Minot hospital.

Jennie was born on August 25, 1953 in Santa Paula, CA to Bill and Emerita (Lopez) Real. She was raised in Bardsdale, CA before the family made the move to Lora Lane in Fillmore. Jennie was given the nickname "Stinky" by her father. In the 1990's, Jennie moved to Los Angeles and worked at Costco in a variety of different positions for the company. It was in LA that she earned her GED, of which she was very proud. In 2003 she moved back to Fillmore to take care of her mother, and resided there until she moved to Minot in 2023.

Family was very important to Jennie. She was always the babysitter for her nieces and nephews, and later for her own grandchildren. Jennie encouraged her sons to participate in sports and made sure to attend their games. She remembered everyone's birthday and made sure they got a special card from her full of stickers. Jennie had special connection with her granddaughter, Zoey, who was the light of her life.

Jennie loved traveling and was a volunteer at the Senior Center in Fillmore. Recently she had begun enjoying bingo at the Harmony Center in Minot. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Jennie is survived by her sons, Dave "Gordie" (Elaine) Bustos, Fillmore, CA and Felix "Punkie" (Sandy) Zuniga, Minot; brothers, George John (Barbara), Paul (Renee), and Tommy (Josie) Real; sisters, Rosie (Johnny) Hurtado and Rebecca Real; grandchildren, Faith Bustos, Dave Bustos, Jr., Lucy Zuniga, and Zoey Zuniga; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronnie Reyes; brother Bill "Nuno" Real; and sister, Lucy "Bug" Macias.
