Obituary

Jonathon Angel Jimenez, 20, passed peacefully on February 10th, 2025, surrounded by family and friends at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. He battled Desmoplastic round cell cancer for two years, a very rare and aggressive cancer. Born on July 23, 2004, in Ventura, California, Jonathon was 20 years old when he passed.

Jonathon is survived by parents Jose and Sandra Jimenez; siblings Jose Antonio Jimenez (Ashley), Gabriel Jimenez, and Selena Jimenez; nephews and niece Salem Jimenez, Santiago Jimenez-Nunez, Matteo Jimenez-Theriault, and Penelope Jimenez; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Antonio and Inocencia Vera, and Sotero and Herminia Jimenez.

Jonathon graduated from Santa Paula High School in 2022 and began to work for Coast Pump as a water well technician, then worked for Coca-Cola as a merchandiser. At a young age, he developed an interest and a love for baseball and was a great baseball player. It was a dream come true that Jonathon had the opportunity to play in Omaha, Nebraska, and Cooperstown, New York, where many great baseball legends played. Even during his illness, he continued to coach baseball in Westlake Baseball Association with his brothers.

Any opportunity Jonathon had, he would go motorcycle riding, camping and fishing with his family and friends. We would like to thank all of his family and friends for their support during his illness, and all the doctors and staff at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and Ventura County Medical Center for the wonderful care he received. Thanks also to everyone who helped with the fundraising event: Santa Paula Moose Lodge, Ventura Moose Lodge, Dodo's Design, DJ Terry Gomez and many others who helped organize the fundraising. We want to give the Lord our thanks for a wonderful and loving son. He touched the hearts of many people. Jonathon was a blessing to all.
