Jose "Chema" Fino Vallin, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 16, 2025, at the age of 75.

He was born in Huanusco, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Maria Paz Fino Vallin and Jesus Fino Arellano. He was one of 15 children, and due to poverty and lack of resources, he became the oldest of the five children who survived. He lived a life rooted in dedication, love, humility, hard work, and faith. Jose was a man of quiet strength and a gentle spirit. He was known for his kindness, respect toward everyone he met, and his unwavering dedication to his family. He worked tirelessly to provide for his loved ones, often working late or taking on extra shifts without complaining. He always put others before himself. No matter how busy he was, he made time for his family—reserving special days to gather, celebrate, laugh, and share meals together. He always left feeling happy and with a smile; those moments meant everything to him.

Jose found great joy in the simple things in life—tending to his garden, caring for his yard, and watching the fruits of his labor grow. He had a natural green thumb and could make any plant or tree flourish. He was also a handyman, always fixing something around the house, working on his cars or maintaining his home. He took great pride in doing things with his own two hands.

A man of faith, Jose was devoted to God and made sure to attend church regularly every Sunday. His strong faith guided his actions, shaping the man of integrity, compassion, and humility that so many admired. Music was another of his passions. He had a wonderful singing voice and a deep appreciation for classic Mexican music and oldies. Though often shy to sing in public or around others, at home his voice filled the air with warmth and nostalgia.

He cherished spending time with his extended family—especially visits to his mother's home. He loved being surrounded by laughter, music, dancing, and simply having a great time. He had a beautiful way of bringing people together, creating lasting memories with everyone who crossed paths with him. He was also a playful and funny man—whether he was joking around with his grandchildren while wearing masks or being silly in his self-made garments that always caught attention. He made sure to make people smile and laugh.

Jose will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. His legacy of hard work, kindness, faith, and love will continue to live on through those who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his wife, Maria "Cuca" R. Fino Moreno; his sons, Moises Fino and Oscar Fino (Daniela); his grandchildren, Noel Roberto and Isaac Romeo Fino; his siblings, Rigoberto Fino Vallin (Nelva) and Esperanza M. Fino (Salvador); his nieces, Luz A. Roa (Ernesto), Yudin Z. Roa, Maria G. Roa (Vincent), Sonia M. Fino, Darlene R. Fino, and Delilah R. Rodriguez; and his nephews, T. Fabian Fino (Silvia), Angelo Fino, Christian Fino, Alan Fino, Daniel Fino, Felipe F. Roa (Teresita), and Alberto Roa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Paz Fino Vallin and Jesus Fino Arellano; his brother, Jose Gualterio Fino; his sister, Maria Luisa Roa; and many more of his siblings who passed early in his life.
