José de Jesús Hernández, lovingly known as Chuy, was born on April 1, 1970, in Venado, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, and entered eternal rest on August 29, 2025, at his beloved home, surrounded by the love of his wife and family.

At a young age, Chuy moved with his family to Oxnard, California (El Rio), where he built his life and roots in the community.

He is survived by his devoted wife, María del Carmen Hernandez Amezcua, his daughter Ariana Hernández, son José de Jesús Jr. Hernández. He is also remembered with love by his mother María Rafaela Amaya Martínez, his father Tereso Hernández Flores, and his siblings Francisco Hernández, Andrés Hernández, María Elena Doctor, Lupe Hernández, and Carlos Hernández.

In his younger years, Chuy worked as a machinist, but later in life he discovered his true passion: working with plants. He found great joy and pride in his work at the nursery, nurturing each plant with care. To those who knew him, his plants reflected his patience, dedication, and love for life.

Chuy's greatest happiness was found in his family and in the home, he built with his wife. He will be remembered for his kindness, his hardworking spirit, and the way he cherished the simple yet meaningful things in life.

His memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, children, granddaughter, family, and all who were blessed to know him.
