Obituary

Jose "Joe" Jr. Ochoa was born on August 24, 1982 in Ventura, California, to immigrant parents from Colima, Mexico. Raised in the small town of Santa Paula, Joe displayed a deep passion for soccer from a young age. His natural talent on the field quickly made him known for his impressive half-field goals, earning admiration from teammates and coaches. His parents and three older sisters, were his biggest supporters, cheering him on at every game and encouraging his love for the sport.

After attending Santa Paula High School, Joe chose to follow in his father's footsteps and began a career as a truck driver. He worked at EJ Harrison & Sons, then Custom Packaging Supply, before joining Sysco Foods in December 2015—a job that he took great pride in. Joe was known for his unwavering dedication to his work and family, always striving to be a reliable provider and taking pride in everything he did.

At a young age, Joe met Natasha, the love of his life, and the two married on September 06, 2015. Together, they created a loving home, raising four children. Joe's passion for soccer lived on in his children, all of whom inherited his love for the game. He was also a proud and active "Cheer Dad" to his eldest daughter, supporting her in her cheerleading endeavors. Always a champion for his children's interests, Joe ensured that they felt his constant encouragement and love.

Family was at the heart of Joe's life. He loved spending time with his extended family, attending gatherings, dancing, making everyone laugh, and playing cornhole. He also enjoyed cheering on his favorite football team, the Los Angeles Rams. Always the picture of charm, Joe took pride in his appearance, ensuring he was always well-presented and ready for any occasion.

Joe was a man of faith and devotion. He had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was proudly involved in his church community. Joe and his family attended New Life Community Church in Oxnard, where they worshipped together and shared in the blessings of faith. Joe also found comfort and inspiration in listening to Joel Osteen's ministries, drawing strength and encouragement from his messages of hope, joy, and love. His faith was a guiding light in his life, shaping his character and how he loved those around him.

Joe's community spirit extended beyond his family life. He passionately volunteered as a coach for several of his kids' soccer teams, sharing his love of the game with the next generation. His devotion to local soccer and cheerleading scenes made him a beloved figure within the community.

Tragically, Joe passed away on July 17, 2025, leaving behind a rich legacy of love, laughter, and resilient work ethic. His family, friends, and the countless people he touched continue to remember him fondly for his joyful spirit, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones.

Joe is survived by his wife, Natasha; their four children, Isaiah, Treasure, Romeo, and Cataleya; his parents, Jose & Rosalina Ochoa; and his sisters and brothers-in-law: Maria & Javier Barajas, Dania Ochoa & Freddie Villanueva, and Rocio Ochoa & Jose Silva, along with numerous nieces and nephews. His memory lives on through the laughter he spread, the love he gave, and the profound involvement on the soccer and cheer community.

Joe's spirit is carried forward by his family, the community he enriched, and the lives he touched, leaving a lasting legacy of warmth, kindness, and joy. His children will proudly carry on his joyful energy and passion for life!
