Judith Ann Johnson passed away on 15 March 2024. Judy was born on 16 August 1960 in Washington, D.C. to Inez Burns and William Anthony Burns Sr. Her siblings gave each other nicknames. Her nickname was 'Poopa'. After the death of her father, Judy's family moved from Sixth Street in D.C. to Birney Place in Anacostia where she lived until she married. She attended Birney Elementary School, Francis Jr. High School, Ballou High School and Dix Street Academy. Her scholastic awards include Most Promising Student, Womanhood Award and Class Valedictorian in 1978.

Judith married Timothy Johnson on 19 November 1982 and became a Navy Wife for the next 41 years. Judith moved with Tim to Oxnard, CA near his duty station at the local Naval Air Station. She lived in the area until her passing. Growing up Judith Ann was truly a daddy's girl. When her daddy awaken to go to work, Judy would get up, make her bed and dress herself. She would sit with daddy at breakfast. She was a quiet and loving little girl. Because Judith mostly stayed indoors, her mother purchased her things like a typewriter and a sewing machine. Mature beyond her years, Judith would assist her mom with cooking, cleaning and caring for her younger siblings. Judith was baptized in Matthews Memorial Baptist Church in 1974, where she attended weekly services and Sunday school.

In her adult life, Judith was a woman of faith, integrity and a high sense of right and wrong. She would not be associated with anything or anyone that was not above board. As young adult, she would give counsel to people who felt at ease telling her their deepest secrets knowing she would keep their words in deepest confidence.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents Inez and William Anthony Burns Sr., Sister Anna Caldwell. She is survived by husband Timothy, brother William Anthony Burns Jr., sisters Doris Burns, Francis Stokes and Carol Blassingame, sons Anthony L. Johnson and Michael L. Johnson, grandchildren Chanel and Diamond, Imani, Sarai F. Johnson, Michael Johnson Jr., Meco Johnson, Anthony N. Johnson Jr. and Daniel Johnson.
