Our beloved Julia Rose Escamilla Inouye passed away on July 11, 2026, in her hometown of Oxnard, California, at the age of 78.

Julia was born on April 7, 1948, to Maximiliano and Eufemia Escamilla at Lying-In Hospital in Oxnard. She attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Elementary School through the eighth grade and later graduated from Santa Clara High School, both in Oxnard. She continued her education by attending beauty school.

Julia was a bright and outgoing person who lived life to the fullest. She began her career with the County of Ventura in Public Health. During her career, she also held several other jobs, including working at Casa Tropical and at her best friend's bar, Sam's Saloon. After 37 years of dedicated service, Julia retired from the County of Ventura in 2008 as Director of the Human Resources Agency.

Julia touched many lives with her kindness, generosity, and open heart. She always made time to listen and was ready to offer a helping hand. She was someone that others could always count on. Whenever they needed, she was there. As she often said, "My door is always open," and it truly was.

Julia loved mariachi music and could often be found listening to her favorite musicians wherever they were playing, always with a smile on her face. She was also a devoted member of her church. For many years, she volunteered with the Youth Group and Catechism classes. She later spent her Tuesday's volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry.

Julia is survived by her two children: son Richard, (Christine), daughter Stefanie, and grandchildren: Maxx, Gary and EmmaRose. She is also survived by her siblings, Rita, Gilbert, David, and Theresa, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maximiliano and Eufemia; her beloved husband, Gary; her siblings, Maximiliano, Ramona, Ricardo, Maurilio, Nicholas, and Arturo; and her godson, Donald.
