It is with heavy hearts but loving memories that we announce the passing of Julia Romero, who was called home on March 28th, 2025. Born on May 24th, 1939, in El Paso, Texas, Julia left this world peacefully after being lovingly cared for by her daughters and grandchildren, following a head injury sustained from a fall while walking to the place she cherished most—her church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sulema, her father, Samuel, and her youngest daughter, Jolene Gabrielle.

Julia is survived by her four children:

Marylou
Frank
Laura
Her 10 grandchildren:
Joaquin (Suzanne), Stevie-Ray, Elizabeth(Jerry), Lorraine (Gabe), Denise (Joe), Arturo, Ernie, Paul, Ryan, Jolene (Rigo)

Julia was also a beloved great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, leaving behind several great-grandchildren who will continue to carry her love and legacy.

Julia's Life & Work:
Julia's working journey began at the Limonera packaging house, and over the years, she earned several esteemed positions in state jobs, including her work with the California Conservation Corps and the Santa Paula Police Department.

Her passion for service extended far beyond her professional life. Julia's deep Catholic faith guided her every day. Attending church daily was not just a routine, but a cornerstone of her life. She cherished her prayers, and praying the rosary twice a day was a non-negotiable part of her devotion.

Julia was an avid knitter and crocheter, often spending her free time creating beautiful works of art. She also volunteered her time at the church, sharing her love and talents with others.

Family & Tradition:
Family was at the heart of everything Julia did. She loved country music and enjoyed live mariachi performances, especially when surrounded by her children. Her tradition of attending the Santa Paula Mariachi Festival each year to celebrate Mother's Day with her children was something she looked forward to with great joy.

Julia had a unique way of nurturing her grandchildren. Every summer, they would come stay with her for a week, learning how to swim and sharing in the laughter that filled her home. This tradition continued with her great-grandchildren, ensuring that her love and warmth were passed down through generations.

A Legacy of Faith and Love:
Julia's faith was her anchor throughout her life, and she remained a humble servant until the day she was called home. Her love for her family, her devotion to her church, and the way she cared for everyone she encountered will forever be remembered.

Julia's passing leaves a profound void, but the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be missed dearly but will remain alive in the beautiful stories and love she shared.
