Leonor Garcia
Madrid
Dec 16, 1948 — Jun 18, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mom Leonor Garcia Madrid. Leonor was born in Corralejo, Durango. At the age of 17 she came to the United States and planted roots in Oxnard where she met her husband of over 50 years Gilberto.
Our mom dedicated her life to caring for her husband, children and home. She worked temporadas at Nabisco better known as "La Chileria" where she made many friendships. To know our mom was to love her. She had an aura about her and left a lasting impression on anyone she met. And those dimples…. How could anyone forget her dimples. She took pride in her family. Unity and family values were very important to her. Our mom was selfless and would do anything to help anyone in need.
Leonor is preceded in death by her husband Gilberto, Parents Ezequiel and Candelaria, brothers Leonel, Quelo, Beto and sister Luli, nephews Jerry, Jorge, Beto and Alex. She is survived by sons Albert (Cindy) and Claudio (Mary), daughters Marcela (Daniel) and Alejandra (Anthony). His grandchildren John, Daniel, Julie, Claudia and Anthony will greatly miss her. She leaves behind siblings, Elva (Gerardo), Chuy (Griselda), Elsa (Ramon), Nando (Esther), sisters-in-law (Eva and Concha) and many nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly.
Our hearts are broken but grateful we were allowed to have our mom for 76 precious years. She worked so hard her entire life until she absolutely couldn't anymore. Not because she didn't want to but because her body would no longer let her. She was tired, so God decided it was time for her to rest. She will forever be remembered affectionately as Huela by her grandchildren. When we think of her, we will remember that radiant woman that always shined like the sun. Until we meet again, we'll always love our momma.
