It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Lorraine Carmona, an unforgettable wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and godmother.

Lorraine was born on March 31, 1947, in Riverdale, Maryland, to Harold and Elsie MacMullan, the youngest of their five children. As the daughter of a Navy serviceman, she spent her early years moving along the East Coast. After losing her mother at a young age, her family relocated to Oxnard in 1955 at the encouragement of her dear Aunt Evelyn. She graduated from Camarillo High School in 1965.

In 1968, Lorraine married Art Carmona, Sr., and together they built a loving family, raising four children. They just celebrated 57 years of marriage! In 1976, she began a career dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of children, working for the Oxnard School District. She later spent 18 years at the Navy base, retiring in 2009 as Director of the Child Development Program. Lorraine made a lasting impact and was deeply appreciated by the many childcare providers she supported. She was honored to receive the Ensign Award, presented by Base Commander J.J. McHugh.

Lorraine was known to many as a truly special woman with a heart of gold, kind, generous, and always thinking of others. A devoted Catholic, her faith guided her throughout her life. She cherished her family and had a gift for bringing loved ones together through thoughtfully planned gatherings and holiday celebrations. She enjoyed Elvis Presley's music, creating scrapbooks, and collecting bears.

Above all, Lorraine's life centered on her family. In retirement, she treasured every moment with her family, especially her grandchildren, giving them her time, love, and unwavering attention.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her siblings, Bob Simmons, Harold MacMullan, and Carole Trujillo. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her husband, Art Carmona, Sr.; her children, Art Carmona, Jr., Mark Anthony Carmona, Richard Trujillo, and Linnea Himmelrick; her sister, Elsie Newton; her grandchildren; and many extended family members.
