Obituary

Lorraine Danielle "Rainey" Lee, 42, of Oxnard, California, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on April 14, 2026, at home surrounded by family. Lorraine was born on August 24, 1983, in Camarillo, California to Lawrence and Patricia (Holland) Lee. A devoted "daddy's girl", she cherished spending quality time participating in activities with him, easily making friends and creating lasting memories along the way.

Lorraine accepted the Lord early in life and quickly developed a passion for sharing His love with others. She taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and lived her faith through service and kindness. Lorraine excelled academically and athletically. She participated in basketball, volleyball, soccer, and track. She attended R. J. Frank Middle School where she was valedictorian and graduated from Rio Mesa High School 2001.

She began her professional career in customer service at Sports Chalet but soon found her calling as a records technician with the Ventura County Clerk-Recorder's Office. There she became very proficient and was respected as a dedicated lead worker and trainer until her illness. Lorraine found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments. She loved attending Dodger games, participating in youth soccer, spending time at the beach, painting, traveling and creating new experiences with family and friends. Above all, she cherished time spent with her daughter, Azaia.

Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Azaia Emily Kurz; her parents, Lawrence and Patricia Lee; her sisters, Alisha Lee (fiancé Bryan Williams) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Angela Lynn Lee-Lustig of Kansas City, Missouri; and her brother Michael Lee of Chicago, Illinois. She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends, who will forever cherish her memory. Lorraine is preceded in death by her son, Tahj Daniel Shell (Oxnard, CA). Lorraine's warmth, strength, and unwavering faith will continue to live on in all those she touched who knew and loved her
