Macrina Campos-Peraza was born to Gabino Campos and Eduarda Peraza in the Yucatan Peninsula on January 14th, 1931.

She was the first of nearly a dozen children and spent much of her childhood with her grandparents. Como simpre dijo, Macrina era hija de abuela. She lived an extraordinary 92--nearly 93--years, coming to the United States in her youth to work in the fields, meeting life-long companions and friends, creating her own family, which loves her very much, and buying property.

She spent the final years of her life with her granddaughter and granddaughter's fiancée in Oakland, California, where she passed away, peacefully, on Christmas Day 2023. On her last day, she prayed, laughed, and had a decadent little slice of chocolate cake.
