Our mom, Maria "Lupe" Anaya, 87, of Santa Paula passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 7th, 2026.

Lupe was born in Zacatecas, Mexico to Saturnino and Soledad Jimenez, on April 19th, 1938. She came to Santa Paula in 1962 moving from Imperial Valley where she and her husband, Joe, raised their seven children.  Our mom was employed by Saticoy Lemon Association, where she retired from as a citrus grader.

Our mom will always be remembered for her unconditional love, generosity and her family-come-first attitude. What brought her true joy was taking care of her family and cooking her many special meals. Our mom also enjoyed her lifetime hobby of sewing, where she created clothing and blankets, that have now become family heirlooms. Most important our mom was a devoted Catholic woman, in which she instilled those values into her children.

Our mom is reunited in heaven with her husband Jose Jesus "Joe" Anaya, daughter Rosalinda Hinojosa, granddaughter Jennifer Calderon-Velazquez, great-grandson Frank Anaya III, son-in-law John Salazar, and siblings Emilia Rocha, Fred, Sotero, Narciso, Tomas, Juan Jimenez and Elvira Luna.

Our mom is survived by her children Frank Anaya (Arlene Herrera), Irma (Sal) Calderon, Jesse Anaya, Norma Salazar, Edward Anaya, and Angie Anaya (Rene Cobos), her 19 grandchildren, 34 great grand children, sister, Euofrosina "China" Bautista, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Our mom was our guiding light, our source of unconditional love, and the heart of our family. Her strong catholic faith, shaped us immensely. Her love was a constant force that shaped us, supported us, and guided us through life's joys and challenges.

She had an extraordinary ability to make each of us feel special and understood. With just her presence , she could comfort us; with a hug, she could make our troubles melt away. Her strength was our foundation, her wisdom our compass.

She taught us the most valuable life lessons - not through lectures, but through her actions, her strength. She showed us the power of kindness, the importance of family, and the strength found in love.

Her resilience in the face of adversity was inspiring, her grace in handling life's challenges, remarkable.

Her love extended beyond our family. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, turning strangers into friends with her warmth and genuine interest in their lives.

As we say goodbye, we're comforted knowing that her legacy lives on in each of us - in our values, our love for each other, and the way we strive to make the world a little bit kinder.

Mom, you were our anchor, our safe harbor. Your love will continue to guide us.
