Obituary

In Loving Memory of Maria del Refugio Lopez Delgadillo known to her loved ones as "Mama Cuca & Doña Cuca"

With great sadness and deep faith, we announce that our beloved mother, Maria Lopez Delgadillo, went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 1, 2025. She was born in Zapotlanejo, Mexico, on July 4, 1926.

Maria was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Jesus Delgadillo; her cherished son Lalo; her infant daughter Pasquala and her parents, Epifanio Lopez and Josefina Camarena Lopez.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Rosario "Chayo" Delgadillo (Carmen), Jesus "Chuy" Delgadillo (Rosa), Maria Orozco (Miguel), and Ramiro "Ram" Delgadillo (Melissa); her daughter-in-law Marisela Delgadillo; her grandchildren Carmen, Maria, Griselda, Carlina, Rene, Eddie, Monica, Ryan, Miguel, and Bry; and her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will carry on her beautiful legacy of love and faith.

Maria called Santa Paula her home for over 55 years, where she worked at Chileria, Saticoy Lemon Packing House, and devoted her life to her family. She was a proud Guadalupana and a faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, living her faith through prayer, kindness, and service to others.

A true prayer warrior, Maria prayed with deep fervor and unwavering faith for her children, grandchildren, and all those she loved. She found great joy in spending time with her family, sharing stories from her remarkable life, and remembering her childhood in Mexico. One of her most vivid memories was of the Cristero War, when her family lovingly hid her in the cellar to protect her from the Mexican Army and federal troops.

Maria's strength, devotion, and steadfast faith were an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She loved deeply, prayed faithfully, and lived a life that beautifully reflected the love and grace of God.

Though she will be profoundly missed, we take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her loved ones and resting peacefully in the presence of our Heavenly Father.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her beloved and faithful caregivers; Dolores, Hilda, Anna, Hortencia, Natalie, Anna Christina, Nathali (Devine Apage), Maria (Acess TLC) and (Assisted Home Health Hospice) for their love and compassionate care.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7
