Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Ofelia Rivera Robles. On January 4th, 2025 God called Ofelia home, she was surrounded by her loving family. Ofelia was born September 7th,1934 in Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico. Her parents were Cruz Rivera and Blasa Alamillo. She had 8 siblings; Salvador Rivera of Salinas, CA., Valentina Rivera of Santa Paula, CA., Irene Loy of El Paso, TX., Jesus Rivera of Palmdale, CA., Gloria Rivera of Fillmore, CA., Blanca Rivera of Santa Paula., and much respect to her late siblings, Julia Rivera and Felipe Rivera.

In 1953, Ofelia married Felimon Robles and had 7 children: Ernesto, Mario, Hector, Lazaro "Chino", Margarita, Lupe and Arturo. Together they had 20 grandchildren, 21 great-great grandchildren and 3 great-great-great grandchildren.

In 1986, after the passing of her late husband Ofelia and children relocated from East Los Angeles to Santa Paula, CA. Ofelia was elated to start a new chapter alongside her mother and siblings. She worked for Saticoy Lemon Packing House, for over a decade and finally retired in 2001. She began to enjoy her retirement by traveling and spending time with her loved ones. She loved playing lottery scratchers and crossword puzzles. Ofelia was an animal lover, she loved horses, birds, cats and of course we can't forget how much she loved "Bailey" the family dog.

Ofelia was a long-time member of Among Friends Senior Center. She was loved by the staff and made numerous friends as they created wonderful memories. One thing about Ofelia is that she was a great authentic cook. Ofelia was well known by her family and friends for her famous papas con chile. She always made sure that she had plenty to go around. Ofelia was always put together. She loved her lipsticks, getting her nails done, her hair had to be on point and her Chanel perfume.

We will immensely miss our "Ama", mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, great-great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Life will never be the same without our Ama, she will live in our hearts forever.
