Obituary

Michael Chadwick Hope was born in Los Angeles on May 24, 1938, and passed away in Fillmore on April 7, 2025, with his family by his side.

Living in Fillmore the majority of his life, he embraced the small-town atmosphere. Mike graduated from Fillmore High School in 1957 where he participated in athletics, FFA and Road Runners Car Club.

Mike met his High School sweetheart Judy Arundell and they were married on September 18, 1958. Together in Fillmore their 66 years, they raised their three children Lori, Heidi and Steven.

Mike was a land surveyor by trade working away from home often. When the opportunity arrived to work locally at Benner & Carpenter, he jumped at the chance to be home. Mike was also a volunteer fireman, Citizen Patrol Officer, Alumni Association President, Fillmore High School Athletic Booster (a lifetime member of which he was proud) and a member of Piru Sportsmans Club.

Mike and Judy loved to travel in their 5th wheel across the United States with friends where Puerto Penasco was a favorite as well as Republic, WA with the Whiteleys.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Judy. Daughters Lori Hope, Heidi Popp (John) and son Steve Hope (Martha). He was a very proud Grandpa and PaPa to Michelle, Ryanne (Will), Andie, Nikki (Mark), Kyle, Kiana, Chad (Krystal); as well as Great Grandpa to Maddie, Tristan, Aubrey and soon to CeceliaMae. Mike is also survived by his brothers Ray (Lupe) Hoover, Lee (Linda) Parker, brother-in-law Oz (Barb) Arundell and many nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his Father Chad Hope (Bette), Mother Olive Hoover, Brother Dana Hoover and Sister Linda (Hoover) Haase, nephews Eric Parker and Ken Hoover, brother-in-laws, Jim Arundell and John Arundell.

No services will be held. Donations can be made to Fillmore High School Alumni Association in his memory (559 Sespe Avenue, Fillmore, CA  93015)
