Modesto
Navarro
Jan 2, 1951 — Mar 4, 2024
We are heartbroken to announce the death of our father, Modesto "Morey" Navarro, who was taken from us on Monday, March 4, 2024 at the age of 73.
Morey was born on January 2, 1951 in Tepatitlan, Jalisco, Mexico to Esteban and Celia Navarro, the oldest of 8 siblings. In 1962 he moved to Oxnard, CA where he would reside for the remainder of his life.
He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe then Santa Clara High School and Ventura College. In 1971 Morey started Oxnard Towing until his retirement in 2005. He loved taking road trips with his family and spending time with his grand-dogs. Aside from his love of family, he was passionate about giving back. He was very involved in the community, always helping at his Alma mater, Santa Clara was proud to be a part of the Oxnard Planning Commission. Our father was an advocate for the people of Oxnard and spent his entire life donating his time to assist others.
Morey is survived by his three daughters, Stephanie Dubnick(Rob), Debbie Navarro and Denise Navarro; grandsons, Jonithin, Angel, Marcus, Michael and Colin; brothers and sister, Lourdes Lopez, Paco (Brenda) Navaro, Johnny Navarro, and Arthur (Evangelina) Navarro; and numerous nieces and nephews who referred to him as the "Fun Uncle."
He is preceded in death by his parents Esteban and Celia, and siblings, Javier, Steve and Carmen.
Our dad was a force to be reckoned with and our hero. He will be terribly missed but we know he is in heaven looking down on us saying, "Don't worry about me, we'll have a drink when you get here, and I'll be watching over you."
