In Loving Memory of Monique Wallace

Sunrise: May 12, 1966 – Sunset: June 30, 2025

Monique Wallace was born on May 12, 1966, to Thomas and Ethel Wallace. She was the beloved middle child of three, with her older brother Timothy preceding her in birth and her younger brother Eric following. Monique spent her formative years in Santa Barbara, California, where she attended elementary, middle, and high school. It was there that she formed many cherished, lifelong friendships.

In the mid-to-late 1980s, Monique was blessed with her two eldest daughters, Mayesha and Meagan—born three years apart but raised as close companions. Then, in 2004, to her surprise and joy, Monique welcomed her youngest daughter, Mia, into the world, completing the trio that meant everything to her.

Monique loved her family fiercely and unconditionally. She found joy in cooking, creating art, and most of all, dancing and listening to her favorite oldies. Her laughter was infectious, her spirit vibrant, and her kitchen always full of love.

Above all, Monique's unwavering devotion was to her faith. Her love for the Lord was evident in every part of her life. She was a devoted churchgoer, a joyful participant in Bible studies, and a proud member of the church choir whenever her health allowed. Her spiritual walk was one of deep strength and inspiration to those around her.

Monique knew grief intimately, having endured the heartbreaking loss of several family members throughout her life—most notably, the tragic passing of her beloved daughter Meagan. From that pain, she found purpose and sisterhood among a circle of women she lovingly called her "Justice Mothers," bound by shared sorrow and unshakable support.

After being diagnosed with cancer, Monique's faith never wavered. She faced every day with grace, courage, and a spirit that remained unbroken. Her positivity, even in the face of hardship, was both remarkable and contagious.

Monique's passing leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though we mourn the loss of a truly beautiful soul, we find comfort in knowing that she is now free of pain—reunited in heaven with her daughter Meagan, her parents Thomas and Ethel, her brothers Timothy and Eric, and her dear Aunt Pearl.

May her radiant soul watch over us always, and may we carry forward her legacy of love, strength, and unshakable faith until we meet again.

Monique is survived by her beloved daughters, Mayesha and Mia, and her cherished grandchildren: Kiara, Kievon, Nevaeh, Zenaya, and Mariah. She also leaves behind her dear niece Isabella Correa, nephews Alex, Treygon & Tristen Wallace and a host of loving aunts, cousins, and extended family who will forever hold her memory close.
