Otilia
Ritenour
Mar 30, 1939 — Mar 16, 2024
Santa Paula
With great sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Otilia "Tillie" Ritenour (Ulloa) on March 16, 2024 at the age of 84. Tillie was born on March 30, 1939 to Otilio and Tomasa Ulloa in Santa Paula. She had 4 sisters; Evangelina, Julia, Carmen, and Lupe, and 1 brother, Thomas. She graduated from Santa Paula High School in 1957 and began working at the Port Hueneme Naval Base. It was there that she met the love of her life, Dennis Ritenour, and they were married in 1959. She started her career as a secretary and worked her way up to the highest position, a GS13, working at both Point Mugu and Port Hueneme Naval bases. She worked for the draft board until its closure in 1975, at which time she moved into defense contract negotiations. It was there that she finished her career in 1995, just in time to take care of her two "babies". Tillie and Dennis have two children, Phillip (Gina) Ritenour, and Margie (Steve) Hess, and three grandchildren, Ashley and Audrey Ritenour, and Keaton Hess. In her years of retirement, Tillie enjoyed traveling the world with Dennis, spending time with her grandchildren, watching Dodger baseball, and shopping whenever she had the chance. She especially loved volunteering at Olivelands School for over 16 years. She was loved by everyone who met her and will be missed dearly. Her family finds comfort in knowing that Nana and Papa are together again. We would like to extend our gratitude to the wonderful nurses and therapists who worked with her through Privilege Home Health, and Assisted Home Health and Hospice.
