Richard "Ricky" Benjamin Garcia, 79, passed peacefully with family by his side in Ventura, California on June 28th, 2025. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle.

He was born to Benjamin and Consuelo Garcia on December 28th, 1945, in Santa Paula, California. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Consuelo Garcia, his two sisters, Rita Lopez and Rachel Maciel, and his beloved son, Michael A. Garcia. He is survived by his devoted wife, Gloria Garcia; his children, Richard B. Garcia Jr., Elizabeth Montes, Lena Allen, and Gina Rodriguez, along with their spouses; his cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his sisters Rosie Gomez and Sister Miguel Jose (Ruby Garcia).

Richard graduated from Santa Paula High School in 1963. After high school, he was drafted into the Army to go to Vietnam. Although he was proud to serve his country, an injury at Fort Ord during basic training resulted in an honorable discharge from

the Army. He eventually found the love of his life Gloria in 1968 at a church function. After starting a family, he decided to attend Ventura College and studied horticulture, which led to a fulfilling career in landscaping. He found great pride and peace working with nature, eventually becoming the Park Superintendent at Grandview Memorial Cemetery in Glendale, California, where he served with dedication for 14 years. After retiring from Grandview, he pursued another dream by opening R.G. Video/Video Arcade in Santa Paula in the early 1990s with his wife Gloria. Together, they created a space filled with community, fun, and the latest in collectibles—from pogs and Pokémon cards to classic sports and toy memorabilia and collectibles. As a business owner, he served the business community, by becoming a liaison between the city and business/merchants owners, as well as the President of the Chamber of Commerce in Santa Paula and the President of the Downtown Merchants Association in Santa Paula.

Above all, Richard was a family man. His love for Gloria was unwavering, and their partnership in life and business was a testament to their bond, as they were married for 57 years. His family was his world, and he poured his heart into creating lasting memories with them. Richard took great joy in family BBQs, sharing stories, and especially in spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He delighted in spoiling them, teaching them about his beloved collectibles, and simply being present in their lives. His face would light up whenever they were around, and he found true purpose and happiness in being a grandfather.

Richard leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
