Richard Ramos attended McKevett school and Barbara Webster in
Santa Paula. Graduated from Buena High school in 1971. A graduate
of U.C.L.A. 1975, majoring in Sociology and Religion.
Our father Herman taught us fishing and camping, Annie our mother
would always have a great breakfast of papitas, chorizo, and fish or
meat for breakfast after fishing, as a family we enjoyed these events.
Richard liked to surf fish and fish at the Ventura pier. He would meet
Uncle Paul(cousin) on Friday nights and fish and enjoy stories. They
were good "buddies". Richard taught his sister Betsy fishing knots at
a young age. Like he said, "fish or cut bait" and "take care of your
mud." Our family today still enjoys fishing and camping, a peaceful
and soothing event.

Parents were Herman Rivera Ramos, and Ana Maria Vera.
Grandparents: Teresa Carmona Vera Hernandez, Filimon and
Francisca Ramos, all deceased. All Aunts and Uncles are deceased,
one Aunt Mrs. Louis Barajas (Beatriz) of San Jose remains. The Ramos
family arrived in Santa Paula in the early 1900's and has numerous
cousins in Santa Paula, San Jose, Oregon and Washington. Richard
always knew where most of the relatives settled.
Richard enjoyed teaching and was a life-long learner. As an educator,
he was always reading and researching different subjects. He loved
his cousins dearly and had a habit of checking how they were. A visit
from Richard was a caring action. Richard loved cooking, making
tamales with Grandma Teresa "from the airport", cooking with all---
making Bunuelos, and Tamales. During his illness Teresa and Ruben
Segovia and Rose Ramos Chavez family were there to assist
him(cousins). Catalina Ramos(wife of "Sony" Robert Ramos) was
instrumental in Richard receiving his sacraments a couple of years
ago.
