Roland "Buster" Jenkins III, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Camarillo, California on November 23, 2024, at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy, his daughters, Dawn and Beth, his son, Rusty, and grandchildren, Alexander, Adriana, Andrew, and Charlie.

For over 25 years, Roland worked as a boys' and men's apparel buyer, a career he excelled in, to provide a stable and fulfilling life for his family. His work required travel all over the country, as well as a few trips overseas, and he accumulated hundreds of thousands of frequent flyer miles over the course of his career.

Roland was a man of many passions. He loved his family, BBQ, country music, classic cars, and days spent on the Colorado River. A talented cook, he was particularly known for his barbecue skills. He loved spending time in the kitchen, "doctoring up" family favorites, and standing over his prized BBQ, grilling enough food to feed an army (or at least the family and neighbors.) He radiated warmth and joy when sharing his culinary creations. Food was more than just a meal to him—it was an expression of love. Cooking and grilling for his family and friends were his way of creating lasting memories, and showing his affection.

Roland's happy place was waist-deep in the Colorado River's cool waters, a bbq rib or chicken leg in one hand and a cold beer in the other. County music playing in the background, laughing with family and friends, Cottonwood Cove held countless cherished memories of boating, fishing, and watching loved ones ski behind the boat. Happy days at the river often started with a Bloody Mary and ended with a glass of "Bunny Punch", but it was sharing those days with loved ones that brought him the most joy.

Quick-witted and always ready with a joke or a cheeky remark, Roland's sense of humor was often off-color, but always memorable. His loyalty to family and friends near and far was evidenced by his daily phone calls to check up on those he held dear. His humor and kindness touched everyone who knew him.

Roland will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His memory will be a source of comfort, laughter, and love for years to come.

Rest in peace, Dad. Your love, your laughter, and your BBQ will forever warm our hearts.
