It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather Roque Navarro Torres. Our Heavenly Father called him home on June 17, 2024, at the age of 82. Roque will be remembered by many for his charisma, gentle spirit, work ethic, and willingness to lend a helping hand. Roque was born in San Roque de Torres Gto. México on March 10, 1942. He first came to the U.S. as a farm worker with the Brasero Program around 1959 and immigrated to the U.S. in 1971. Roque thereafter lived and raised his family in Oxnard California for the remainder of his life. Roque was a farm worker throughout the State of California but primarily in Oxnard; he harvested grapes, lemons, strawberries and other crops. Roque marched with Cesar Chávez for farm workers' rights and was a lifelong friend and supporter of farm workers in Oxnard. After he retired at age 62, Roque spent his time making and repairing bicycles, and selling second hand items at the Ventura College swap meet. Roque mended not just bikes, but hearts with his compassion, kindness, and love. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years Francis Navarro. His loving children Roque Navarro (Marissa), Maria N. Magaña (Armando), Sandra Navarro-Preciado (Jesse), April E. Navarro and his wonderful grandchildren Luis J. Preciado, Jonathan J. Magaña, Alexxia M. Preciado, Kiara B. Preciado, Fatima D. Magaña, Roque Diego F. Navarro, Ava M. Navarro, Natalie N. Magaña, Violet I. Navarro, Jazmin A. Lau and Jennifer J. Nava. Services will be held at Garcia Mortuary on Sunday, June 30, 2024, viewing from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. & Rosary 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on July 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Santa Clara Cemetery.

Con gran pesar anunciamos el fallecimiento de nuestro amado esposo, padre y abuelo Roque Navarro Torres. Nuestro Padre Celestial lo llamó a casa el 17 de junio de 2024, a la edad de 82 años. Roque será recordado por muchos por su carisma, amabilidad, ética de trabajo, y disposición para ayudar. Roque nació en San Roque de Torres Gto. México el 10 de marzo de 1942. Llegó por primera vez a los EE. UU. como trabajador agrícola con el Programa Brasero en approx. 1959 y emigró a los EE. UU. en 1971. A partir de entonces, Roque vivió y crió a su familia en Oxnard, California, por el resto de su vida. Roque era trabajador agrícola en todo el estado de California pero principalmente en Oxnard; cosechó uvas, limones, fresas y otros cultivos. Roque marchó con César Chávez por los derechos de los trabajadores agrícolas y fue un amigo y defensor de toda la vida de los trabajadores agrícolas en Oxnard. Después de jubilarse a los 62 años, Roque dedicó su tiempo a fabricar y reparar bicicletas y a vender artículos de segunda mano en el mercado del colegio de Ventura. Roque no sólo reparó bicicletas, sino corazones con su compasión, bondad, y amor. Le sobrevive su devota esposa durante 57 años, Francis Navarro. Sus amados hijos Roque Navarro (Marissa), Maria N. Magaña (Armando), Sandra Navarro-Preciado (Jesse), April E. Navarro y sus maravillosos nietos Luis J. Preciado, Jonathan J. Magaña, Alexxia M. Preciado, Kiara B. Preciado, Fátima D. Magaña, Roque Diego F. Navarro, Ava M. Navarro, Natalie N. Magaña, Violet I. Navarro, Jazmin A. Lau y Jennifer J. Nava. Los servicios se llevarán a cabo en la Funeraria García el 30 de junio de 2024, desde las 4:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m. y Rosario 6:30 p.m. La misa será el 1 de julio de 2024 a las 11:00 a.m. en la Iglesia Católica Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Seguirá el entierro en el cementerio de Santa Clara.
