Sandra Marie Barraza (nee Hidalgo), beloved wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend, passed away peacefully at home on September 17, 2024, after a brief but courageous battle with Sarcoma. She was 63 years young and a resident of Reseda, California.

A devoted Christian, Sandra lived her life grounded in faith, love, and service. She is survived by her loving husband of 5 years, Lupe Barraza; her two cherished children, Xylina Wilson (husband, Aaron) and Elijah Ribota (partner, Alyssa); step-sons Jonathon and Nicholas Barraza and her two adored grandchildren, Nova and Jonah Wilson. She is also remembered with love by five of her siblings, her nephews and nieces, and many extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by sister, Lisa Corona (d. 2007), and late husband, Randy Bautista (d. 2012).

Sandra was born in Port Hueneme, California, on July 16, 1961, the second eldest of seven children born to Herman "Mino" Hidalgo (d. 2005) and Carolyn Hidalgo (nee Nungaray) (d. 2017). Sandra was raised in the Lynwood-Compton area of Los Angeles until her family relocated to Oxnard in 1973. She graduated from Channel Islands High School in 1980 and resided in Karlsruhe, Germany, from 1983 to 1986 before returning to the Oxnard area to start a family.

In 2016 Sandra retired after 28 years of service as a beloved school bus driver for the Oxnard School District, a role she found both rewarding and fulfilling. In her retirement, she took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren, camping with family, tending to her beloved garden, hosting family game nights and expressing her creativity through various crafts including beading and sewing. She loved sharing her time, home and creations with those close to her, always bringing light and warmth into the lives of others.

Her quiet strength, bright spirit, and steadfast love for her family and friends will be dearly missed, but her memory will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
