Obituary

Santiago Nunez, affectionately known as "Tata Jim," passed away peacefully on November 19th, 2024, at the age of 85, now reunited with the love of his life, his late wife Dolores Freiri Nunez. Born on May 30, 1939, Santiago lived a life defined by generosity and unwavering dedication to his family. Santiago proudly served in the United States Army, His sense of honor and courage inspired everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his three beloved daughters: Debra Perez, Marina Perez-Olegario, and Lydia Nunez Serrata, who were the light of his life and his siblings Ruben Nunez, Seferina Nunez, and Lydia Hernandez. Santiago's legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Matthew Serrata, Angelica Serrata, Mark Serrata, Cristina Lomeli, Anthony Perez, Jesse Perez, Vincent Olegario, Michael Serrata Jr. and Vanessa Villalobos, as well as his Great Grandchildren Joey Lomeli, Janyssa Lomeli, Jesse Perez Jr., Melissa Perez, Angel Perez, Sophia Perez, Liam Olegario, Michael Serrata III, Elizabeth Serrata, Jacob Villalobos, Samantha Villalobos, Diamante Perez, Nannez Perez and His Great Great Grandchildren Roman Lomeli, and Ezekiel Lomeli each of whom held a special place in his heart.

To his family and friends, Tata Jim was more than a father and grandfather; he was a source of endless love. Known for his warm heart he had a way of making everyone feel valued and cared for. His humor brought comfort to those around him, a comfort that his memory will continue to provide.

Family, friends, and all who were touched by his kindness are invited to honor the remarkable life of a man who meant so much to so many.
