It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sergio Ramos Moreno, who passed away on August 17, 2026, at the age of 57.
Sergio was born in Port Hueneme, California, to Maria Moreno and Refugio Moreno. He was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend.
Sergio is survived by his daughter, Emilee Moreno; his mother, Maria Moreno; and his siblings, Richard Ramos (Sonia Ramos), Alicia Moreno, and Luz Ramirez (Leo Ramirez). He was preceded in death by his father, Refugio Moreno.
Sergio grew up on his family’s ranch and was raised in Santa Paula. His younger years were filled with the kind of stories that his family will continue telling for years to come—from taking his sister along with him to stop traffic with tree branches to eventually buying all of his dream cars. He graduated from Santa Paula High School and worked for many years as a plumber.
Sergio will be remembered for his selflessness, quick humor, generous heart, and the way he made the people he loved feel remembered and cared for. It could be something as simple as a favorite song or snack mentioned years before—Sergio remembered the little things. He had a special way of showing people that they mattered to him.
He was truly one of a kind, and the memories, laughter, and love he gave so freely will remain with those who knew and loved him.
His generosity did not end with his passing. As an organ and tissue donor, Sergio gave one final gift to others—a beautiful reflection of the selfless and giving heart he carried throughout his life.
In honor of Sergio, a small service will be held on October 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard. Please take a moment to leave a memory or share a story below. Every memory is a precious reminder of the love, laughter, and moments we shared with our loved one..
