Shirley Ann Johnson was born August 3, 1948, in Marshall, Texas to her parents, Jesse C. Johnson and Ada Mae (Johnson) Humphries; both preceded her in death.

She was a product of the Harrison County School District and graduated from Pemberton High School in Marshall, Texas. Shirley accomplished one of her greatest dreams - she graduated with a degree in Business Administration from LeMoyne Owen College in Memphis, TN.

As an act of love, she later moved to Oxnard California to care for her aging father.

Those who knew her used these words to describe Shirley: kind, loving, compassionate, graceful and a lover of travel. Now when you heard her say "I tell you what," she would speak her mind about something she was passionate about.

Shirley accepted Christ at the age of 12 and later rededicated her life to Christ once she moved to California. She served faithfully at Saint Paul Baptist Church until her health declined.

On June 14, 2026, God sent an angel from heaven to escort our dear sister, Shirley, home to reunite with her immediate heavenly family: father- Mr. Jesse Johnson, mother- Mrs. Ada  Mae (Johnson) Humphries, two brothers: Captain Renaldo Johnson, Mr. Carlos Davidson; grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She leaves behind her siblings: Carolyn Bell (Bryan); Veronica Davidson; Emeldrid Nwankwo (Ken); Carmen Hicks (Chris); Shelia Davidson; Ronnie Davidson (Tiana); Terry Davidson; Earnest Taylor (Patricia); and two bonus sisters, Cynthia Boyce and Donna Gooden. Two of her dearest friends: Mrs. Juanita Canley and Ms. Willie Mae Avent. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

Shirley Ann Johnson, you have fulfilled your dash in life, and we look forward to the glorious day when we will be reunited with you in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Now that you have graduated into heaven…all debts are settled/paid in full. Enjoy your rest, Sis. Give Madear our love.
